World-Wide Church Planters was founded in 1998 by the late Dr. Steve Wilkes (Professor of Missions at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary) and Dr. Mark Davis (Pastor, Christ Community Baptist Church, Pensacola, Florida) with the purpose of helping missionaries and nationals start new churches. Over the years God has blessed the ministry with amazing results.
Since 1998 WWCP has worked in Russia, Moldova, Ukraine, Romania, S. Africa, Rwanda, Democratic Republic Of Congo, Burundi, Kenya, Uganda, Brazil, British Guyana, French Guyana, Mexico, Dom. Republic, China, Argentina, Haiti, Ecuador, Philippines, India, Honduras, EL Salvador, Germany, and USA. Dr. Mark Davis says, "Currently, we have more invitations to work around the world than we can answer."
National pastors and missionaries on the field have a calling in their hearts to start a new church in an area they sense to be very responsive. They contact us at WWCP and invite us to join them in this work.
At WWCP we use volunteer teams in reaching these responsive areas of the world. . .where people are very open to the gospel. Team Leaders organize a group of individuals who want to answer the invitation to share their faith.
For a week to 10 days, our volunteer teams work with a national pastor or missionary to develop a core group to help start a new church. Through personal evangelism and preaching opportunities the core group is gathered.
